Change in Car Tax is imminent

Be sure you know all about the new tax rates for vehicles as from April 2017. As from April 2017 the way that vehicles are going to be taxed is changing. For cars registered before 1 March 2001 the rate of vehicle tax will depend on engine size. The rate for cars registered on or after 1 March 2001 depends on CO2 emissions and fuel type. They’ll be taxed using the old system if this information isn’t available. The rates are split into bands. The lower the emissions, the lower the vehicle tax. For new vehicles first registered on or after 1 April 2017, the amount you pay for the first 12 months is based on fuel type and CO2 emissions. New vehicles that cost more than £40,000 will be liable for an additional fee between £350 and £450. The first time you tax a vehicle on or after 1 April 2017 with a list price (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000, you’ll pay the rate based on CO2 emissions. read more here….
