Time for a road trip!
The weather is getting warmer as we head towards summer. Time to plan a few weekends away and road trips to some of those iconic UK destinations on your wish list. We are spoilt for choice with miles and miles of scenic roads that will get our engines roaring and our hearts racing.
Here are a few suggestions to help you get those gears in motion:
This has to be one of the most well-known and well-travelled routes and high on many people’s wish list. This 516 mile circular journey starts and ends in Inverness taking you West then turning North along the coast with stunning views at every turn. Take in the coastal scenery, sandy beaches, rugged mountains and remote villages passing through Wester Ross, Sutherland, Caithness, Easter Ross and back into Inverness.

York and the Yorkshire Moors
Being a Yorkshire company, we could not overlook the beauty on our doorstep. The North Yorkshire Moors and beautiful coastline offer some stunning driving opportunities with plenty of villages to explore. One of the largest heather moorlands in England, accessed via the challenging drive up Sutton Bank, the North Yorkshire Moors National Park takes you to hidden gems like Helmsley, Thornton-le-Dale and Harome and the seaside villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Sandsend, to name just a few. End your trip with a visit to the Roman walled city of York.

The Atlantic Way
Take a drive through Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, starting out in the beautiful city of Bath with its Georgian architecture and spa heritage and drive out towards the Devonshire border. The route, the A39, takes you into the Exmoor National Park and into northeast Cornwall. Enjoy the Cornish beaches and famous foodie destinations such as Padstow.

The Lake District
The Lakes 100 road trip will take you on a 150-mile circular journey covering lakes, mountains, charming English villages and towns and some of the most beautiful views in the country. There are 16 lakes alone in the Lake District, with Windermere being the largest lake in England and when you want a break from driving, there are plenty of boat trips to choose from.
Three easy to follow routes that take you through some of the most beautiful landscapes and key attractions in Wales. The Cambrian Way, the Coastal Way and the North Wales Way cover around 420 miles taking in coastlines, national parks, castles and beaches. Add to this four UNESCO World Heritage sites and the opportunity to spot dolphins, seals and puffins and there is something for everyone to enjoy.
