Supporting National Apprenticeship Week 2026
National Apprenticeship Week, NAW2026, runs this year from 9th February and is an event that brings together businesses and young people, highlighting the importance of apprenticeships and their positive impact on individuals, businesses and the economy in general. Apprenticeships provide skills for life, career paths that can last a lifetime.
At Arrow apprenticeships are very much a part of our recruitment planning and support business growth. Some of our senior management team started their careers as apprentices several decades ago, providing inspiration and a wealth of knowledge.
We currently have three apprenticeships across Huddersfield, Sheffield and Wakefield. They are all at different stages of their learning, and all study at Kirklees College. The apprentices generally spend one day a week at college and the rest of the week involved in hands-on training in our workshops.
The courses are Level 3 Light Apprenticeship and Level 3 Heavy Apprenticeship and cover a range of skills including diagnosing and repairing faults, routine servicing and inspections, safety awareness and industry regulations as well as general communication and planning workload.
Apprenticeships provide hands-on learning in the workplace with the added benefit of learning from our more experienced team members. Our apprentices learn the importance of teamwork, communication, problem solving and time management whilst being paid to learn.
At Arrow apprentices are supported by very experienced, fully qualified mechanics who have a wealth of knowledge to share. Passing on experience and skills first hand is how we like to do things and gives our new staff real insights and support for their career progression.
Apprenticeships play a big role in our company, providing opportunities for young people to learn skills, grow their confidence and become valued members of our team and community. As a company, they help strengthen our workforce bringing fresh ideas and new talent, ensuring we are future ready.
We are highly supportive of #NAW2026, encouraging new talent into businesses across the country and highlighting just what an apprentice scheme can offer.
